Presentation

Presents with difficulty walking and drooling.

Gender: Female

Organism: German shepherd dog

Thorax

x-ray

The esophagus is diffusely gas dilated on all projections. There is a round well defined mediastinal mass present in the cranioventral mediastinum. This mass is causing mild focal dorsal deviation of the ventral margin of the trachea and widening of the cranial mediastinum. There are moderate alveolar infiltrates in the caudal subsegment of the left cranial lung lobe.

Case Discussion

Thymoma with secondary myasthenia gravis causing megaesophagus and aspiration pneumonia.
