Presentation
Presents with left pelvic limb lameness.
Patient Data
Left pelvic limb: There is a
There is a heterogeneous, isoechoic mass measuring 4.0 cm in the spleen. The mass does not deform the splenic capsule. There is a large, multilobulated mass at the medial and caudal aspect of the left femur. This mass appears to be moderately vascularized and mildly septated. An additional mass with the same type of echogenicity is visible in the left abdominal flank. This mass is mildly vascularized and does not appear to invade the abdominal cavity. Fine-needle aspiration of the splenic mass and the left thigh were performed without evidence of immediate complication.
Case Discussion
An ultrasound was performed to screen for metastatic disease, and a 4 cm splenic mass was found. The limb mass, flank mass, and splenic mass were sampled with fine needle aspirates. Soft tissue sarcoma was diagnosed on cytology and immunohistochemistry.
