Thorax

x-ray

There is severe diffuse bronchial pattern with peribronchial and interstitial infiltrates throughout the lungs. The bronchial walls are thickened and visible in the periphery of the lungs.

Case Discussion

The pulmonary pattern suggests an inflammatory disease, and the acute nature of the clinical signs in a young adult animal is consistent with eosinophilic bronchopneumopathy.

Peripheral eosinophilia was found on blood analysis, suggesting a parasitic inflammatory disorder. No parasites were found on Baermann test and heartworm test were negative. Broad-spectrum medical management was performed. The eosinophilia and bronchointerstitial pattern resolved over 4 months.
