Coelom

x-ray

There is a large soft tissue mass in the cranial coelom displacing the trachea dorsally. In addition there is a smaller rounded soft tissue mass caudally and on the left adjacent to the larger mass measuring approximately 3 cm. There is moderate granular debris within the ventriculus.

Necropsy

Photograph

The coelomic mass was diagnosed as an air sac cystic carcinoma arising from the ventral and cranial portion of the coelom.

Case Discussion

The mass was multilobular, accounting for the appearance on the radiographs. The ventral location caused the mass effect deviating the trachea dorsally.
