Presentation
Presents with lethargy, anorexia, and regurgitation.
Patient Data
The coelom is distended with mottled soft tissue opacity. The mass effect is displacing the gravel filled ventriculus ventrally. Fluid, gas, and gravel are present in the crop. A distended small intestinal loop is present in the caudal coelom. The most caudal gas bubble is in the cloaca. The long bones have increased medullary opacity consistent with reproductive activity.
Case Discussion
The coelomic mass is likely neoplasia with effusion, or coelomitis from the reproductive tract.
Adenocarcinoma with secondary gastrointestinal tract obstruction and carcinomatosis.
The origin of the adenocarcinoma was most likely ovarian/oviduct, although it encompassed the gastrointestinal tract at necropsy.
