More Cases Needed: This article has been tagged with "cases" because it needs some more cases to illustrate it. Read more...

Quiz mode allows multiseries imaging cases to be presented in a format optimized for interactive tutorials and self-directed learning. This feature supports veterinary radiology education by encouraging observation, interpretation, and clinical reasoning.

The cases shown are selected based on system, category, and case quality ratings. Additional refinements to the selection algorithm are planned for future updates.

Editors or the author of the case can choose to exclude specific cases from being included in quiz mode using a toggle in the case edit interface. If you come across a case that you feel is not suitable for quiz mode, please notify the editorial team at editors@vetlucent.com.

  • the case consists of a single image with annotations (e.g. arrows) that reveal the answer

  • the case has pathology images or other follow up images that reveal the answer (extended timeline)

  • the content is a diagram, reference table, or non-case illustration

  • the image quality is too poor to support learning

  • the case lacks adequate findings or a conclusive diagnosis

In short, any case that lacks educational value in a self-testing format should be excluded from quiz mode.

The first screen presents the case summary, including patient signalment and presentation.

Each case includes one or more “studies”, with each study shown on a dedicated screen. All available series within the study are viewable. Thumbnails appear on the left, and tabs for “Findings” and “Questions” are available for interaction.

You can add short-answer questions to your own cases in just a few steps:

  1. open a case you've uploaded

  2. click Edit (you must be logged in)

  3. drag a question box to the desired location in the case viewer

  4. enter your question and answer

  5. click Finish

These short-answer questions are visible both in quiz mode and standard case view. Note that multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are not currently supported within individual cases.

Here are a few example cases that demonstrate effective use of quiz mode:
