Draft and unlisted cases

Last revised by Mike French on 14 May 2025

There are three types of cases on Vetlucent - draft, public and unlisted.

Draft cases are essentially your "work in progress" cases. When you first create a case, you may not have the time to finish it off or you are waiting for follow-up imaging or the results from a biopsy. You can keep your cases in 'draft mode' for as long as you like but you are limited in the number of cases you can have in draft mode at any one time (this depends on your supporter status).

Public cases make up the vast majority of all cases on Vetlucent. These cases are visible to all users and can be used in other user's playlists and to illustrate articles and multiple choice questions. You can have as many public cases as you like. The more the better.

Unlisted cases have limited visibility but can still be shared using the "share" button on the case. They can only be seen by the owner (and editors) when logged in. Like draft cases, you are limited in the number of cases you can have in unlisted mode at any one time (this depends on your supporter status).
